An HCG diet plan can be very elaborate. You don’t just buy HCG diet drops and incorporate it in a low calorie meal plan. The drops are just one part of a whole. There are different phases that one must go through to successfully lose weight.
This initial phase is technically not part of the whole diet plan. This is the phase in which you commit to the upcoming series of diet phases mentally, emotionally, and even physically. Invented by Kevin Trudeau for the HCG diet, it entails the detoxification of the body before the actual diet is applied to your lifestyle. Some have become suspicious of this phase because this is usually the period in which Trudeau offers up quite a number of products for sale that could help one get through the cleansing phase. Other HCG diet enthusiasts, however, appreciate having to start from it.
The loading phase is actually a sub-phase of Phase 2 or the official period in which HCG diet drops started to become part of your life. Phase 2 as whole can last for 26 days or it can last for 43 days. The loading phase entails gorging on fatty, unhealthy foods for a couple of days to ironically “get it out of your system”.
Core/HCG Intake Phase
This is the main phase of the whole diet. A person who has committed to this must, for 21 to 38 days, take in a 500 calorie diet a day, supported by HCG diet drops. This is when one loses weight from fat deposits. 500 calories, after all, is much less than the number of calories that you will need to perform your daily activities. So, weight loss is expected. This is the most difficult part of Phase 2.
By the time you start the Taper Phase, you might have gotten used to the low calorie diet. You will then rely on the 500 calorie diet for weight loss because you will no longer use HCG diet drops. Whatever weight loss that you will experience is triggered by the very low calorie intake and the faster metabolism that HCG has already activated in your body.
By the stabilization phase, you can breathe a sigh of relief. You don’t have to use the hormone diet drops and you don’t have to rely on very low calorie intake. However, you should enjoy healthy foods. Skip the sugar and starch to ensure that your previous efforts would not be for nothing. As the name of the phase suggests, you have stabilized your diet. You may have already achieved your target weight and a quick enough metabolism that should continue to help you burn fats faster.
The most important part of a diet is the maintenance phase. Some people fad diet and lose weight quickly but go back to their previous unhealthy diets after they are through with the phases. The maintenance phase can still be very tricky. At this point, you will no longer rely on HCG. You don’t even have any dietary restrictions, anymore. So, you will need all the discipline and sense of wellbeing that you have developed in the earlier phases to maintain the weight that you have achieved.
Some people may get discouraged by the HCG diet plan. There are several phases to consider. The second part can also take up to 43 days. Who can survive 500 calorie a day menu plans for 43 days? However, once you get through the various phases, with the support of a physician or a nutritionist, you can maintain the weight loss and prevent weight yo-yoing.
